Bread Besan - It is a breakfast item which can be made in just 15 mins. Children will love it. This can also be served as one of the starters in small get together s / Kitty parties.
The best part of the recipe is that it is not deep fried leading to Less calories intake 😊
Ingredients:
1 cup besan / gram flour 2 tsp red chilli powder 4-5 slices bread white / brown ¼ tsp ajwain / carom seeds or even Jeera (Cumin seeds) can be used pinch of hing / asafoetida ¼ tsp salt ½ cup water 1-2 tbsp Oregano or mixed herbs 1 onion finely chopped 1 chopped Tomato oil / Ghee / butter for roasting
Recipe:
1. Firstly, in a large mixing bowl take 1 cup besan. 2. Add in 2 tsp chilli powder, ¼ tsp ajwain or Jeera, pinch of hing and ¼ tsp salt. combine well. 3. Further add ½ cup water and whisk smooth. 4. Add onion, tomatoes, oregano 5. Mix well and get to thick flowing consistency batter. 6. Now dip a bread slices into besan batter and cover both sides. 7. Heat pan with oil or butter (suggested) or ghee (suggested) and toast on low flame. 8. Flip over and cook both sides till besan gets cooked completely and bread turns crisp golden brown. 9. Press gently, make sure besan is cooked completely. 10. Finally serve bread besan toast with green chutney or tomato sauce.
