Veg Grilled Sandwich

Veg Grilled Sandwich is another type of breakfast / evening snack item. It is one of the favorite foods for Children.

Ingredients:
Big bread slices
Boiled and peeled potato slices
Capsicum slices
Cucumber slices
Tomato slices
Onion slices
6 tbsp butter
8 tbsp green chutney
salt for sprinkling
butter for brushing

For Green Chutney: 
1 cup roughly chopped coriander (dhania)
1/4 cup chopped pudina (mint)
1 1/2 tbsp roughly chopped green chillies
1 tsp lemon juice

salt to taste

Recipe:

Green Chutney:

Combine all the ingredients along with 5 tbsp water in a mixer and blend into a smooth paste.

Sandwich:

  1. Apply 1½ tsp of butter and 2 tsp of green chutney on 1 bread slice and keep aside.
  2. Place potato slices, capsicum slices, Onion slices, cucumber slices over the bread and sprinkle some salt evenly over it.
  3. Take another bread slice, apply butter and green chutney over it. 
  4. Now place this plain bread with butter and chutney over the bread with Vegetable toppings. Spread a little butter on the bread slice and press it lightly.
  5. Place the prepared sandwich in a greased and pre-heated sandwich griller by turning the sandwich upside down so that the buttered side faces downwards. (You may also place it on Tawa / pan greased with butter.
  6. Again spread a little butter on the bread slice and grill it for 3 to 4 minutes or till the sandwich turns golden brown in colour and crisp.
  7. Cut the sandwich into 2 pieces using a sharp knife.
  8. Serve immediately with tomato ketchup.
