Chinese Idly

Yes, you have read it correct !! Its Chinese Idly 😃. I tried this recipe over weekend and it has come out to be fantastic version of Idly. Must try recipe for all Chinese lovers.




Preparation Time: 15 mins   
Cooking Time: 10 mins   
Total Time: 25 mins     
Makes 2 servings

Ingredients:

2 cups Idly sliced vertically
2 tbsp oil
1/2 cup thinly sliced carrots
1/4 cup shredded cabbage
1/2 cup thinly sliced capsicum
1/2 cup chopped Tomatoes
1 tsp soy sauce
2 tsp Green Chilli sauce
2 tsp Red Chilli sauce
salt to taste
a pinch of black peppercorns (kalimirch) powder

Recipe: 

  1. Heat 1 tbsp oil in Kadhai, add the vertically sliced idly pieces and saute till it turns brown. You can alternatively roast them in Oven. Keep this aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a another kadhai, add garlic and sauté on a high flame for 30 seconds.
  3. Add the carrots, cabbage, capsicum, Tomatoes and sauté on a high flame for 1 to 2 minutes.
  4. Add the soya sauce,red chilli sauce, green chilli sauce and salt, mix well and toss on a high flame for 1 to 2 minutes.
  5. Add the roasted idly, black pepper powder mix and toss well on a high flame for another 2 minutes.
  6. Serve immediately.
