Sabudana Khichdi

Sabudana Khichdi (Tapioca pearls) is a Maharashtrian cuisine. It is a perfect food for those on a fast.



Soaking time:  Overnight (7-8 hours)
Preparation Time: 15 mins   
Cooking Time: 3 mins   

Ingredients:
2 cup sabudana (Tapioca pearls), washed and drained
4 tbsp Ghee
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
3/4 cup chopped potatoes
salt to taste
1/2 cup roasted, powdered peanuts (you can add up to 1 cup of peanuts powder - based on preference)
2 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1 tsp lemon juice

Recipe:

  1. To make the sabudana khichdi, combine the washed and drained Sabudana and 1/2 cup of water in a deep bowl and keep aside to soak overnight. Keep aside.
  2. Heat the ghee in a deep non-stick pan and add the cumin seeds.
  3. When the seeds crackle,add the green chillies, add the potatoes and cook for 1 min.
  4. Now add sabudana, salt, peanuts powder, lemon juice and mix well and cover with a lid and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes.
  5. Serve hot with curd.
