Paneer Paratha

Paneer Paratha (indian flat bread stuffed with Cottage Cheese) is one of the many popular paratha varieties from Punjab. It makes a great finger food for toddlers kids. It tastes yummy with any  pickle / curd / sauce.

Ingredients:

For paneer stuffing:
2 cups crumbled paneer / cottage cheese
½ tsp kashmiri chilli powder
¼ tsp garam masala
salt to taste
1 inch ginger grated
3-4 cloves of grated garlic
fistful coriander leaves finely chopped
½ tsp aamchur powder / dry mango powder

For chapathi / paratha dough:
1 cup whole wheat flour / atta
salt to taste
1 tsp oil or ghee
water as required for kneading
¼ cup wheat flour for dusting

for roasting paratha:
ghee or oil as required

Recipe:

Paneer stuffing recipe:

  1. Take crumbled paneer in a bowl, add add chilli powder, garam masala, aamchur powder, grated ginger, grated garlic, coriander leaves and salt.
  2. Mix well and keep aside.
Paratha dough recipe:

  1. Take a large bowl, add wheat flour, salt. Add water, oil and knead the dough. Keep aside for 10-15 mins.
  2. Now pinch a medium sized ball dough, roll about 5 inches in diameter.
  3. Place the prepared paneer stuffing in the center..
  4. Sprinkle some flour and roll to of a chapati size.

Roasting paneer paratha recipe:

  1. On a hot tava place the rolled paratha and cook both sides.
  2. also add oil / ghee and press slightly.
  3. finally, serve hot paneer parathas with sauce, raita or pickle.
