Stuffed Capsicum

Stuffed Capsicum is a dish that exists in different names and forms around the world. It consists of hollowed or halved peppers, filled with many variety of fillings.I have used Potatoes for filling in my recipe.


Ingredients -

3 capsicum - medium sized
4 boiled and mashed medium sized potatoes
2 tbsp Red Chilli Powder
2 Onions finely grinded into paste
5-6 garlic cloves finely grinded into paste
1 tbsp Turmeric powder
1/2 tbsp Hing ( Asafoetida ) 
salt to taste
5 tbsp Oil
1 tbsp Cumin seeds (Jeera)
1 tbsp Mustard seeds (Rai )

Recipe -

For Stuffing - 

  1. Heat 2 tbsp Oil in kadhai, add mustard seeds, jeera seeds, allow them to crackle. Now add hing, turmeric powder.
  2. Add onion, garlic paste and saute for 2 mins. Now add Red Chilli powder, mashed potates and tbsp salt. Mix well.
  3. Add fresh Coriander leaves. Mix well and keep it aside for cooling.   



For Curry -

  1. Take 3 capsicums and cut round on its top as shown below -

2. Slowly add the stuffing in each capsicum and keep it aside.


3. Once all the capsicums are stuffed, heat 3-4 tbsp oil in kadhai, add 3 capsicums one after the other. Cover it with a lid for 5-10 mins on a very lower flame.

4.Roast them till golden brown.
