Masala Puffed Rice

Masala Puffed Rice / Susheela (Hindi) / Susula (Marathi) is a very yummy dish which can be had during breakfast. Those who are on diet can also have it as puffed rice is a great combination of high fibre, protein and complex carbs.

Ingredients :

1 chopped Onion
2 Chopped Tomatoes
3-5 sliced Green Chillies
3 cups Puffed Rice
4-5 tbs oil
1 tbsp Cumin seeds (Jeera)
1 tbsp Mustard Seeds (Rai)
1/2 tbsp Asafoetida (hing)
1 tbsp Haldi
1/2 cup Roasted peanut powder
1 tbsp salt

Recipe -

  1. Wash the puffed rice properly and starin it aside
  2. Heat Oil in Kadhai, add rai, jeera, hing, haldi, green chillies and allow them to crackle
  3. Now add onions and saute them till its golden brown
  4. Add Tomatoes and saute well till it leaves oil
  5. Now add the strained puffed rice, salt and mix well. 
  6. Cover with a lid for 1 mins
  7. Now add the roasted peanut powder and mix well and allow it to cook for 2 more mins
  8. Yummy and healthy Masala puffed rice is ready. Serve Hot.
