Potato Parcel || Potato Potli

Potato Parcel  || Potato Potli is one of my experiments I was doing in Kitchen and it turned out really very yummmm  ... ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹ Even though the shape of my Potlis can be improved ! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

It has Potato stuffing and shaped in a potli style.. Kids are gonna love this recipe๐Ÿ˜

INGREDIENTS:

For Dough:

1 cup Semolina (Suji || RAVA)
1 cup all purpose flour (Maida)
1/4 tbsp salt
1 tbsp baking soda

FOR STUFFNG:

6-7 garlic cloves
1 inch ginger
2 finely chopped onions
6-7 green chillies
6-7 boiled and mashed potatoes
1/4 cup corainder leaves
2 tbsp red chilli powder
2 tbsp salt
1 cup coriander leaves
1 tbsp coriander powder
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
1 tsp mustard seeds (Rai)
1 tbsp Turmeric (Haldi)

RECIPE :

DOUGH-

  1. Add maida, rava, baking soda, salt and mix well. 
  2. Now slowly add water and knead a soft dough
  3. Rest for 30 mins

STUFFING -

  1. Grind the green chillies, ginger and garlic into a fine paste. Keep aside
  2. Heat 4-5 tbsp oil, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, hing, haldi allow them to crackle
  3. Now add the green chilli paste prepared in step 1, saute well
  4. Now add chopped onions, saute well for 2 mins
  5. Add 1 tbsp red chilli powder, 1 tbsp coriander powder mix well
  6. Now add boiled and mashed potatoes, 2 tbsp salt and mix well
  7. Add coriander leaves, mix well and allow the stuffing to cool

POTATO PARCELs -

  1. Take the dough, knead well for 2 mins
  2. Take small portion of it and roll out in round shape.
  3. Fill the stuffing inside and pleat the ends as we do for Saree and form a potli shape
  4. Seal all the ends properly with water, else the potli can break while frying
  5. You can also make a roll shape / any shape that you wish to ๐Ÿ˜Š
  6. Heat oil for deep frying and fry all the potlis / parcels
  7. Serve hot with tomato ketchup / Tamarind chutney / mayonnaise for children
