Sorghum Thalipeeth (Jowar Thalipeeth)

Thalipeeth is a type of savoury multi-grain pancake popular in Western India. The dough is prepared from a flour called Bhajanee made from roasted grains, legumes and spices. For bhajanee, the grains include rice, wheat, bajra, and jowar.

Preparation Time: 5 mins
Cooking Time: 10 mins
Total Time: 15 mins

Ingredients:
2 cups Jowar Flour (Sorghum Flour)
1 cup grated Kheera (Cucumber)
3/4 cup grated Onion
2 tbsp cut green chillies
1 tbsp salt (Taste)
1/4 tbsp Turmeric powder (Haldi)
1/2 tbsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)

Recipe :
1. Take a big bowl, mix the Grated cucumber and onions. 
2. Add Green chillies, Turmeric powder, Cumin seeds, salt and Jowar flour and mix well. Add little water if required. 




3. Make small balls of the dough and pat them on a plastic cover (Usually we prefer milk plastic that is readily available at home)



4. Heat the pan and roast the above thalipeeth on medium flame till it turns brown. Add little oil while roasting so that it doesn't stick. (you can also add Ghee for roasting)


5. Once the Thalipeeth is roasted on both the sides, serve hot with Curd / pickle. You can also sprinkle a little Oregano so that kids will love this recipe. :)
