Pav bhaji is a fast food dish from India, consisting of a thick vegetable curry served with a soft bread roll. Its origins are in the state of Maharashtra.
Ingredients -
2 ladi Pav
200 gms Butter
4 tbsp Pav Bhaji masala
1 1/2 cup boiled and mashed potatoes
1 cup Chopped cauliflower
1/2 cup Green peas
1/2 cup chopped carrots
1 cup chopped Onions
1/2 cup capsicum
2 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
1/2 tbsp Red Chilli Powder
1/2 tbsp black salt
4-6 cloves grinded garlic
Recipe -
For Bhaji
- Boil the cauliflower, green peas, carrots in a vessel, drain them and keep it aside. Preserve the drained water which can be used as vegetable stock for our gravy.
- Take a pan, heat the butter, add onion, capsicum and saute on high flame for 2 mins. Now add garlic paste and saute further for 1 min.
- Now add tomatoes and saute till it leaves oil.
- Add turmeric powder, Chilli powder and Pav Bhaji masala, salt and black salt and cook for 2-3 mins.
- Add the boiled vegetable, ,mashed potato and mix well. Now add the vegetable stock for consistent gravy.
- Slice each Pav into 2 horizontally, apply a little butter each side.
- Now heat Tawa and roast the Pav on both the sides till its golden brown.
Serving -
1. Serve hot Bhaji in a bowl and top up with Onions, Coriander.
2. Serve with hot Pav and lemon wedges.
